    Review:
We bussed 14 people with us to the show in three cars...  That was pretty cool.   It probably would have been more but someone whose name starts with "Kaitlyn" took half of the people that we invited to a different show.  But ya know, whatever.  The show itself started off with a bad omen.  Petey broke a guitar string during sound checks.  Ok, so he didn't break any other guitar strings for the rest of the night, but the drum set that Dylan was using kept falling apart while he was playing with it.  No big deal, other than that, the show went pretty damn well.  We gave away three day old sour cream to two metalheads that won our dance contest.  We played the new songs, which totally came out well, and got a pretty positive response on them.  Of course, being the piece of shit that he is, Petey forgot the guitar solo to These Streets.  PF113 was good as usual, and Sofa King sounded pretty tight for a cover band.  We made $43 because Dylan's girlfriend has a nice rack.  Thanks to her effort and perseverence, we did not leave the show empty handed, and we are extremely grateful to her.  So, before we left, we left our mark on the town of Bogota and Petey stole a street sign that said "TOW AWAY ZONE".  Bogota is a weird place, I tell you.

    Super-duper thanks to:
PF113 for hooking us up with yet another show, Sofa King for letting us play, the two metalhead guys for winning the dance contest, Joe's cousin Eric for his special guest appearance, Denis for coming up and doing the "OI!"s on These Streets, Charlie for singing along during most of the songs, and everyone who gave us tip money and signed on to our mailing list.  You all are the best.

  • June 25th, 2000 - Norwood American Legion
Other Bands: PF113, Day 19, Random Task, Outline
Doors at 4, starts at 4:30 (It's a Sunday, it starts early), $7 at the door.

    Review:
Well, we sucked, but everyone else told us that the other bands were pretty good.  We played two new songs, one by Joe called Throw Me Down which just absolutely fucking rocks, and one by Pete called Pan-cake-s.  And guess what it's about?  Yep, girls.  The slimy, disgusting creatures with a hole in them.   We kinda sucked on our old songs, but did the new ones surprisingly well.  We didn't get a recording, besides a VHS copy, but the sound on those things suck.   Vocals all sounded pretty tight, which is kind of odd for us, since we all usually make mistakes here and there.  Again on the topic of strange occurences, Pete never seems to break strings, but last night he broke strings on two different guitars.   Strange indeed.  All in all, Joe and I had a pretty shitty night, cause we ended up waiting two hours after the show ended for our rides to come.

    Super-duper thanks to:
No one.  NO ONE.  THAT'S RIGHT, NOBODY.
  • May 31, 2000 - Nanuet High School Auditorium
Folk Music & All Sorts Club "Jam Session"
2:30PM, right after school, totally free.

    Review:
This was, by far, the worst show that we've ever had.  EVER.  Picture this: about 10 people in the audience besides people playing, one mic stand, two mics, a broken guitar strap (yes, it finally snapped on me), a broken distortion pedal that had it's own free will as to whether or not to change the sound, a really messed up cable, Dylan dropping his sticks, and of course, all of us having at least one off-key moment.  Oh yeah, we did try to play "Damnit" just because a girl we know wanted to sing it.   I guess that it turned out okay, but I forgot the solo and had to improvise it (oops?).  Let's just forget that this ever happened.
  • May 5th, 2000 - Nanuet High School Auditorim
    Boston Rock-a-thon!
    8-10PM, $5 prepaid, $5 at the door

    Review:
Well, it started off on a bad note.  First, we played a song that we had played through *once* before.  But that turned out okay.  Then, because people were using the wrong amplifiers, someone didn't realize that it wouldn't be a good idea to turn my amp on while I wasn't there, so they did, and then they played with the knobs to try to fix it.  In case you don't see anything wrong with that: a big no-no in music is to touch any equipment after sound checks.  Especially other people's equipment.   But that turned out okay.  And then they cut us off early.  But we played an extra song anyway.  As far as musically, I don't think we made one error, anywhere.  So yay, us.  The new song turned out great ("How could you resist the guitarist in a punk band?"), we did a pretty goob job according to everyone there, and we sold all the tapes that we brought with us.  Which is a good sign.

    Super-duper thanks to:
Everyone else who played, for supporting the Boston trip, Mr. Minard for setting it up, even though he cut us off short because the metal bands and the house band took *way* too long, all the people that I haven't seen in a year for showing up, and also a quick apology comes here to the Unstrung Heros.  I, Peter, am sorry that I yelled.
  • April 14th, 2000 - Melanie's Surprise Party
    Invitation only
Other Bands: Shopping Cart Catastrophies, Project Mayhem.

    Review:
Happy 17th (or, 721st) to Melanie.  Yes, we knew all along.  We would have publicized this show, but, uh, it was a surprise party, and it was at someone's house.   At first, we were a little bit pissed off at Dylan, since it was his fault that we were over two hours late.  Then, when we went back to his house so that he could get changed, he revealed to us that his parents had borrowed all of our cables without telling us.  *PHOOF*.  Anyway, everything turned out okay because the Shopping Cart Catastrophies rule and let us use their cables.  Highlights include Dylan not screwing up Humanitists, and me screwing up "'s Song" again.  JOGO did a very, very good job.  So give him a hug the next time you see him and tell him that it's for being such a sexy bitch.   Also, after we finished, JOGO and I sprayed each other with a water bottle for about a half hour, creating a complete mess on the floor, which was very slippery, dangerous, and fun.  Also, please remember to capitalize all of the letters in "JOGO" so that no confusion exists between our JOGO and the Jogo that toured with the Barnum and Bailey circus as a "half man / half ape".

    Super-duper thanks to:
Melanie, for having a birthday every year, Meghan for letting SCC and us use her house and for not stealing my Kris Kross CD, and JOGO for spraying me in the face with a water bottle.
  • April 1st, 2000 - Norwood American Legion, Norwood, NJ
    Doors 6PM, $6 Admission
Other Bands: PF113, Nothing Left..., Carl's Drunk, and Bleached Youth

    Review:
Overall good show, got a good quality recording from the sound guy that was there.   Take a listen on our MP3.com site.  Turn out was good for the other bands, but we were a little bit too far away from home to convince any one we knew to show up.  Thanks a lot, guys.  On the other hand, we may soon be joining the ranks of Reinforcement Records, thanks to a stroke of luck.   In addition, we have determined that midgets are punk, sex is punk, and naked is punk.

    Super-duper thanks to:
PF113 for the show, "Sugarnipples" for the laughs, Asian man for being my long lost Italian brother, the sound guy, the girl who screamed "PETEY!" while we played, the girl who gave me the free water after the show, and finally, a very special tip o' the hat to Denis.  We love you Denis.
  • March 25th, 2000 - Pearl River United Methodist Church, Pearl River, NY
    Doors 7PM, $4 Suggested Donation
Other Bands: Shopping Cart Catastrophies, and The Tattletales

    Review:
Yes, Dylan spelled "Tattletales" wrong on the flyers.  This was our first real show, since we don't count any thing else that we've done.  Some of the people from PF113 took a few minutes, as a favor for giving us a show (April 1st).  Also, after the show was over, two of the members from the now defunct Sessile decided to come up and play a song - uninvited.  Highlights of the show included Dylan's naked chest, my 'Harry is "Gay"' shirt, and Joe played bass.  For those of you that don't know us personally, that last sentence isn't funny.  For those of you that do know us personally, that last sentence is hilarious.

    Super-duper thanks to:
The board of trustees at P.R.U.M.C., Dylan's parents for helping out, Meki Cehon ("Let's GLOW!"), my twin brother Chris, Karen for calling me sexy, and everyone for showing up.  Except you.  Yes, you.  You know who you are.  Not you, you.
